Ill. Police Dog Killed In Code 3 Crash

A Peru (Ill.) Police dog died Saturday when the handler's vehicle was struck by another vehicle while responding to an armed robbery call. Kali, a female Belgian Malinois, was ejected from the vehicle and fatally injured during the accident.

Illinois Trooper Killed In Fiery Crash

An Illinois trooper died after a big rig struck his patrol car late Thursday causing the two vehicles to burst into flames. Trooper James Sauter, 28, was in his patrol car at the time on Interstate 294 heading south near Willow Road in Downer's Grove.
