2011 Dodge Charger Pursuit

Vehicle OpsPhotos 6

Law enforcement agencies such as the Boise (Idaho) Police Department have opted for Chrysler's 2011 Dodge Charger Pursuit as their new patrol car to replace the Crown Vic being phased out by Ford this year. Rather than introduce a new model, Chrysler opted to upgrade its existing Charger . For the 2011 model year, Chrysler added a Pentastar V-6 engine option and added electronic stability control to the suspension for better handling during higher-speed pursuits. The 3.6-liter Pentastar engine is expected to offer 290 hp for the six-cylinder police Charger. Chrysler also added a chrome-bezel bumper and more aggressive hood scalloping.

The 2011 Charger's cockpit adds steering-wheel controls, and an integrated radio control module. A mini-console allows more flexibility for mounting equipment.

All-encompassing, multistage front and passenger-side air bag systems exceed federal requirements and those of the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).
