The TacView 1400 was developed to address officers’ surveillance needs with a safe solution. TacView is a micro camera with 24 infrared diodes attached to a telescopic pole. The TacView 1400 extends to 5.5 feet, can capture images in light or dark, and has a detachable camera head that can clip to a shield for surveillance when behind cover. The images are sent from the camera to a five-inch TFT LCD weather-resistant color monitor. The durable camera can also withstand being dropped from six feet onto concrete.
