Some Michigan motorists found that gas pumps outside of Meijer grocery stores accepted swipes from drivers’ licenses as payment, allowing many to drive away with free full tanks.
The computer glitch has since been cleared up and it turns out the information from drivers’ licenses that ran through the system was stored. Police are using the data to find the 107 people who thought they were getting away with as many as 15 free fillups over a three-week period.
