Police apparel manufacturer Elbeco Inc. of Reading, Pa., was recognized for its financial support of the National Law Enforcement Museum during a reception held at the recent International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) convention in Denver.
Emcee for the event Rikki Klieman and Craig Floyd, chairman and CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, presented Elbeco president David Lurio with an award recognizing the company for its support. The reception, attended by many of the police chiefs from major U.S. cities, was part of a national fund-raising effort that has netted more than $40 million to date for the National Law Enforcement Museum, which is a project of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
The National Law Enforcement Museum will focus on the history of U.S. law enforcement and educate the people of America and the world about the crucial role officers play in protecting American communities. The museum, to be located in the heart of Washington, D.C., is slated to break ground in the summer of 2010 and to open its doors in late 2011.
