An off-duty Chattanooga Police officer shopping with his wife helped a Wal-Mart greeter physically detain a shoplifter who was trying to leave the premesis with $2,000 in merchandise, The Chattanoogan reports.
After observing Joseph Anthony Hill attempting to force his way past the greeter with a shopping cart with unpaid TVs and a computer, officer Josh Wright identified himself and showed his badge.
Hill claimed the badge was fake, then Wright forced him to the floor and placed him under arrest.
A bizarre scene unfolded, after the arrest, as Hill's wife pretended to have a heart attack. Lisa Hill then attacked a witness who stated she had seen the two together in the store. In defending herself during an altercation in the parking lot, the woman stabbed Lisa Hill with a pocket knife.
