Pottawatomie County (Okla.) Sheriff's Deputy Joe Leeds survived four point-blank shots to the chest during a traffic stop, because he was wearing his body armor, NewsOK.com reports.
Leeds was shot Wednesday night during a traffic stop west of Shawnee, when he approached a red extended-cab Chevrolet truck with three men. One of the suspects opened the rear window and fired at the deputy.
Leeds returned fire and believes he struck the truck, which is still being searched for by law enforcement agencies.
