The president of the union representing the six Saginaw (Mich.) Police officers who shot Milton Hall expressed his pleasure this evening with Saginaw County Prosecutor Michael D. Thomas' decision to not criminally charge the officers.

Hall, 49, was wielding a knife when he was shot July 1 in the parking lot of the Riverview Plaza on West Genesee between North Michigan and North Niagara. Six of the eight officers on scene fired a total of 47 times; 10 of the 11 bullets that struck Hall hit him in the arms and legs, while one bullet struck Hall's pancreas, causing a fatal wound, Thomas said.

Thomas today said that he determined the officers “had no criminal intent” in the shooting.
