Va. Officer In Friendly Fire Shooting On Limited Duty

A Lynchburg (Va.) Police officer who accidentally shot a fellow officer during a nighttime foot pursuit at an apartment complex has been placed on limited duty during the investigation.

A Lynchburg (Va.) Police officer who accidentally shot a fellow officer during a nighttime foot pursuit at an apartment complex has been placed on limited duty during the investigation.

Officer Gary Hilber was wounded by the unnamed officer at a10:40 p.m. Wednesday at Langhorne Road apartment complex. The officer is expected to fully recover, reports the News and Advance.

The officers had responded to the complex to serve a warrant for a drug-related offense.
