The city of Los Angeles has agreed to pay $40,000 to two newspaper delivery women whose truck was riddled with LAPD bullets during the manhunt for fugitive ex-cop Chris Dorner.
The money will go toward replacing their vehicle, reports the Los Angeles Times. The agreement is separate from ongoing discussion regarding potential litigation regarding the personal injury aspects of the case.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck promised to provide a new truck to Margie Carranza, 47, and her mother, Emma Hernandez, 71, who were delivering newspapers in Torrance on Feb. 7 when LAPD officers fired repeatedly on their blue Toyota Tacoma.
