A veteran Santa Fe (N.M.) Police detective has been placed on paid administrative leave, after a patrol officer accused him of sexual assault.
The female officer, 31, reported the alleged assault two weeks ago and remains on the job. She has been with the department for less than two years. The accused detective has served the department since 1999, reports the Santa Fe New Mexican.
The New Mexico State Police is investigating the incident, which occurred at the suspect's residence. Chief Ray Rael has declined to identify either officer.
