A man who was recently charged in connection with a murder in Charleston is facing more charges after police say he ordered a hit on a Charleston Police Officer.
Darrell Emmett Carter Jr., also known as "DJ," was arraigned from South Central Regional Jail on Solicitation to Commit Certain Felonies Monday morning in Kanawha County Magistrate Court, WSAZ reports.
According to the criminal complaint, Carter offered two men $15,000 to kill Lieutenant Steve Cooper, the chief detective for the Charleston Police Department.
