VIDEO: Missouri Officer Stable After Being Shot in Face at Traffic Stop
A Pleasant Valley, Mo., police officer is stable but suffering from serious injuries after he was shot in the face during a traffic stop late Saturday night.
Several police departments worked together to track down the suspect believed to be responsible for shooting Pleasant Valley Police Officer Jacob Baldwin.
Police took 31-year-old Omar D. Maria into custody in Wyandotte County, KSHB TV reports.
Maria was arrested for a federal probation violation warrant but is a suspect in this shooting that seriously injured Baldwin.
We did some digging and found Maria is a repeat offender.
He's convicted of gun and drug charges in the past and was released from prison earlier this year after serving almost four years. He's currently under a three-year supervised release, which is a mandatory part of his federal sentence.
