Streamlight Inc., provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, has introduced the UltraStinger LED, featuring the latest in high-powered LED technology. The new light, which provides 1,100 lumens of blinding light and 65,000 candela for a far-reaching beam, is the most powerful model in the signature Stinger family.

"The UltraStinger LED features a complete redesign of the original UltraStinger, including the latest in C4 LED technology for extreme brightness and an engineered optic that provides superior beam distance downrange," said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. Dineen. "It's a tremendous tool for everything from patrol duty and other first responder applications to troubleshooting automotive problems or for a variety of industrial uses."

Dineen said the new light offers three microprocessor-controlled, variable intensity modes, including high, medium and low, plus a strobe mode. On high, the light delivers 1,100 lumens, 65,000 candela, a beam distance of 510 meters and a run time of one hour and 30 minutes. On low, the light provides a run time of 16 hours, 90 lumens, 5,000 candela, and a beam distance of 141 meters. The strobe setting offers a runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes. A Ten-Tap programmable switch allows users to select from one of three different programs: high/medium/low/strobe (the factory default), high only without strobe; or high/medium/low without strobe.

Powered by a 5-cell, 6 Volt Ni-MH sub-C battery, the UltraStinger LED works with all existing Stinger chargers. The steady charger fully recharges the light in 10 hours on 100V, 120V, 230V or 240VAC, or 12VDC charge cords. A 2.5 hour fast charger also is available.

The new light features an easy access, head-mounted pushbutton switch that is designed for extremely long life, and an O-ring sealed, unbreakable polycarbonate lens with scratch-resistant coating. Highly durable, the UltraStinger LED has a machined aluminum housing that is anodized against corrosion, both inside and out. It weighs 19.9 ounces and measures 11.82 inches long. The light offers an IPX4-rated design for water-resistant operation, and is impact resistance tested to 3 meters.

Available in black, the UltraStinger LED has an MSRP ranging from $201 to $261 depending on the configuration, and includes Streamlight's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
