A Memphis police officer who attempted to intervene when he saw a man roughly forcing a woman into a car was robbed and beaten in Downtown Memphis early Sunday morning, according to police.
Tavin Davis said he was at Third and Beale Street around 5 a.m. Sunday when he saw a woman being assaulted and shoved toward a Kia Sorrento with Illinois tags. Davis pulled out his badge and ordered the man to stop and sit on the curb, which he did.
