A 12-year-old boy is facing several charges after he allegedly led police on a chase while intoxicated in Austin, TX, before crashing Monday morning.
An officer initially tried to stop the boy, who had not been identified as of Monday evening, in the 900 block of Springdale Road when the officer saw him nearly strike a cyclist. According to police, he was driving recklessly down Pleasant Valley Road before he hit a pickup with two people inside. Nobody was injured in that crash, but police say the boy did not stop to render aid.
The boy, who was driving by himself, then slammed the vehicle into a pole and it flipped over at around 7:45 a.m. Monday, KVUE TV reports.
