Arizona florists have once again teamed with Teleflora for their annual Make Someone Smile Week event. Teleflora member florists and community volunteers will be out in full force in the Phoenix area the week of July 16th through the 22nd delivering Be Happy Bouquets for Make Someone Smile Week, the floral industry's largest community outreach program with more than 30,000 arrangements given away each year, according to the company.

This year the local Arizona florists chose to deliver the cheerful Be Happy Bouquets to various police precincts around the valley. "Police Officers face tough challenges on the job every day and we want to let them know we appreciate their efforts this day and every day," said Cheryl Denham, owner of Arizona Family Florist. "You can't help but smile when you see these beautiful yellow flower arrangements and our men and women in blue definitely deserve big smiles," added Denham.

The annual event is a collaborative effort. Teleflora has donated these iconic yellow Be Happy mugs to thousands of participating florists. To make the bouquets complete, those florists, in turn, donate their time and talents while many local wholesalers and growers contribute flowers. This year Arizona Flower Market donated the design space and flowers along with generous flower contributions from farms like West Flowers, Myriad Flowers, and The Elite Flower. Participating local florists who donated their design skills include Fred's Flowers, Amazing Flowers, Ambrosia Floral, and Create Yours. In addition, Jen Colvin, the floral design program instructor at Phoenix Union High School, recruited students who are looking to hone their design skills by donating their time to make flower arrangements. "Local florists love giving back to our community and this is one great way to work together as an industry to do just that," said Brent Denham, director of operations for Arizona Flower Market and board member of the Arizona State Florists Association.
