FL Sheriff Bans Sex Offenders from Hurricane Shelters
The sheriff said in a series of tweets on Wednesday that sex offenders seeking refuge at hurricane shelters will be turned away and that those who have a warrant will be taken to jail.

As Florida readies itself for Hurricane Irma, one Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has warned sex offenders against going to shelters.
The sheriff said in a series of tweets on Wednesday that sex offenders seeking refuge at hurricane shelters will be turned away and that those who have a warrant will be taken to jail, Time reports.
If you go to a shelter for #Irma, be advised: sworn LEOs will be at every shelter, checking IDs. Sex offenders/predators will not be allowed

Judd defended his decision as people online lobbed criticism: "We cannot and we will not have innocent children in a shelter with sexual offenders & predators."
