An off-duty officer with the Sarasota (FL) Police department was jogging in a park on Thursday when he came upon a group of teenagers harassing and hitting a homeless person.
According to WFLA-TV , the officer—whose name has not been released—identified himself as a Sarasota police officer and when he tried to intervene, he was attacked by at least five teenagers who struck him several times, leaving him with minor injuries.
