An early morning incident in Oregon on Wednesday ended with two in custody after one suspect fled on foot and another stole an officer's patrol car.

Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner said that an officer with the department stopped two individuals who looked "really suspicious." One took off on foot, and the other hopped into the officer's squad car and drove away.

Shots were reportedly fired, but no one was struck, according to the Register Guard.

The officer apprehended the suspect who fled on foot.

At some point a little while later, the patrol vehicle was located, and a K-9 unit found the second offender.
