Two officers with the Henry County (GA) Police Department were seriously wounded when gunfire broke out in the Atlanta suburb of Stockbridge on Thursday. The officers were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in serious condition.

The officers were transported to a local hospital where they were listed in serious condition, but by afternoon had become stable. One officer was shot in the hip and the other was shot in the hand.
According to WSB-TV News , there is at least one person dead inside the residence where the gunman is barricaded. That person is not believed to be an officer.
At a news conference Thursday afternoon, authorities said there is a 16-year-old boy being held hostage inside the home where the gunman is barricaded. They were working on getting him out safely, reports WSB-TV .
Police had originally responded to the home for an unknown trouble call.
