An officer with the Pembroke Pines (FL) Police Department was injured when the patrol vehicle he was driving was struck by a car operated by a 78-year-old man.
The agency said in a news release posted to Facebook that Officer Heath Wagner was responding to a call for service and entered an intersection with a green light when the other driver—whose name has not been released—crashed into him.
Both men were transported to a nearby hospital. Officer Wagner's injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening. The other driver is still being assessed.
