An officer with the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department was struck by a passing vehicle and severely injured while she was directing traffic at the scene of a collision involving a suspected stolen vehicle over the weekend.
According to WTOP Radio, the officer was assisting in an investigation at the scene of a traffic collision involving a reported stolen vehicle when another vehicle struck the female officer, whose name has not yet been disclosed.
The suspect vehicle is also reported to be stolen.
