An officer with the Waseca (MN) Police Department who was shot in the head several weeks ago has been moved out of the intensive care unit and continues to show signs of recovery from his wounds.
According to NBC News, Officer Arik Matson transferred out of the intensive care unit at a local hospital and was transported to a long-term acute care facility nearby.
Matson has been communicating with friends and family by squeezing people's hands and giving an occasional "thumbs up" signal.
The man accused of shooting Matson—identified as 37-year-old Tyler Janovsky—has been charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder.
