TX Trooper in Stable Condition After Being Wounded by Business Shooting Suspect

A Texas trooper who was shot and wounded during pursuit of a man suspected of a mass shooting is in stable condition following surgery.
Trooper Juan Rojas Tovar was shot while pursuing the suspect in Grimes County. He was taken by medical helicopter to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan, KBTX reports.
The chase ended at the suspect’s home in Iola, which is about 30 miles east of the cabinet shop, authorities said. That's where the trooper was shot, KHOU reports.
“We remain hopeful (Tovar's) condition will improve and appreciate the many kind thoughts and prayers,” the Texas Department of Public Safety tweeted.

Larry Bollin, 27, has been charged with murder after opening fire at his place of business, Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan. One person was killed and four others were shot at the business.
During his arraignment hearing Friday afternoon, Judge Celina Vasquez set Bollin’s bond at $1.2 million in Brazos County. He also received a $1 million bond for a warrant out of Grimes County for attempted capital murder of Trooper Tovar. His bonds total $2.2 million.
