NYPD Officer Wounded in Wednesday Shooting Leaves Hospital
Officer Alejandra Jacobs, 23, was greeted by a hundred clapping fellow officers — and Mayor-elect Eric Adams — as she was wheeled out of St. Barnabas Hospital shortly before noon, wearing a Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association jacket.
One of two NYPD officers shot by a suspect in The Bronx Wednesday night was released from the hospital Thursday to raucous applause from her fellow Finest — and just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
Officer Alejandra Jacobs, 23, was greeted by a hundred clapping fellow officers — and Mayor-elect Eric Adams — as she was wheeled out of St. Barnabas Hospital shortly before noon, wearing a Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association jacket.
“Happy Thanksgiving, thank you, everybody,” the officer told her brothers and sisters in blue, as she got up to walk into an awaiting van, with bagpipes playing in the background, the New York Post reports.
Officer Robert Holmes, the other officer wounded in the incident, is expected to leave the hospital over the weekend. He was shot in the armpit during a struggle with the suspect.
