The Kansas City, MO, police sergeant that apprehended a woman accused in a stabbing and fatal shooting in 2021 was honored as a hometown hero by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and flew with the demonstration squadron.
Police say Alyssa Leanne Arreola, accused in a stabbing and fatal shooting, had tried to escape arrest by running to a gas station and hiding in a back office. But Sgt. Bobbie King helped capture her.

“While I had her in a bear hug, she bit me on the wrist and then she let go and then she bit me on the finger,” King told KCTV last year. That bite from the suspect caused nerve damage to the police sergeant.
King flew with the Thunderbirds Friday morning as they were preparing for Garmin KC AirShow.
The Kansas City Police Department shared a photo and video of King’s flight on Facebook and noted, “Segreant King liked the rolls.”
