NY Legislators to Vote on Lifetime Pensions for Children of Slain NYPD Officer
Under the law, the children of single-parent officers killed in the line of duty are not entitled to lifetime pensions — a benefit granted to the spouses and parents of NYPD officers.
NYPD Officer and single mother Miosotis Familia was killed on duty in 2017. Her children are not eligible for full benefits under New York law.
