A car theft suspect jumped on a freight train to evade officers of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Wednesday afternoon.

A car theft suspect jumped on a freight train to evade officers of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Wednesday afternoon.
CMPD's helicopter followed a stolen Honda in the northbound lanes of Interstate 85 as the suspect weaved in and out of traffic.
The Honda exited the interstate followed by police, and at one point, the driver jumped out of the car, ran toward some train tracks and then jumped onto a moving train in order to get away.
The driver ended up getting off of the moving train and ran into some woods in a residential neighborhood, WSOC TV reports.
