SASRAD Awarded U.S. Army Contract

Sas R & D Services of Miramar, Fla., (SASRAD) have been awarded a contract for almost 100 Contraband Enforcement Kits (CEK) for the U.S. Army.

January 9, 2015

Sas R & D Services of Miramar, Fla., (SASRAD) have been awarded a contract for almost 100 Contraband Enforcement Kits (CEK) for the U.S. Army. This follows on from the recent supply of 76 search & detection kits for use during the G20 Summit held in Brisbane, Australia, as well as various orders for these kits from several countries around the world.

SASRAD CEK kits include the SAS-Hitech-Xpose Miniature handheld Contraband Detector (otherwise known as a density meter) and Ultimate field repairable fiberscope as well as other items for inspection and search procedures.

This success follows a series of contracts for specialized SASRAD kits and equipment from U.S. Government entities such as: The Department of Defense, DEA, U.S. State Department for Overseas Embassies, and the IRS.

SASRAD Contraband Enforcement kits contain everything needed to conduct security inspections of vehicles, boats, trains, and planes. This includes High Technology Xpose density meters, Ultimate fiberscopes or Videoscopes, as well as a tiny fiberscope for inserting into vehicle tires to look inside without letting the air out. The highly thought of Xpose was manufactured to be the most rugged on the market, drop tested from one meter onto concrete on all six sides. The Xpose contains radioactive material and has been manufactured in compliance with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission safety criteria. The purchaser is exempt from any regulatory requirements unlike similar products where very strict licensing regulations apply. The Ultimate fiberscopes are distinctive in that the end user can repair a damaged fiberscope locally and save considerable operational downtime, not to mention expenses, in returning items to the production unit for repair.

Contraband found by the CEK can include Narcotics, explosives, weapons, currency, WMD, and even people and rare animals concealed in vehicles. SASRAD also provides ultra violet scanners and specialized kits for detection of forged or altered documents to the U.S. government and U.S. embassies as well as internationally to overseas governments.
