Officer Ibarra told Boulder City Police officers he heard a “commotion” in the backyard of a neighbor’s house. Ibarra said he saw Boshard “trying to pull [a clothesline] out of the ground” before he saw Boshard “body slam” a woman onto the ground, get on top of her, and hit her in the face, Assistant Sheriff Jamie Prosser said.
Ibarra went outside and was able to get the victim to a chair in front of his house, but Boshard followed Ibarra and the two began fighting, Prosser said.
Boshard “slammed” Ibarra’s head into a vehicle in the driveway, Prosser said. Boshard was also able to “incircle his arm around [Ibarra’s] neck” and Ibarra’s wife grabbed a gun.
Ibarra was able to get free from Boshard and drew his gun, identifying himself as a police officer, and gave “several” commands for Boshard to get on the ground and back away.
Despite commands, Boshard moved toward the victim, causing both Ibarra and his wife to fire at him.
