The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is encouraging law enforcement supporters and the public to register for Run for the Badge, taking place at 9:00 am on October 15, 2016, on-site in Washington, DC, or virtually from across the country.

This fun, community-oriented, athletic event is designed to raise awareness and honor the men and women who serve in law enforcement while generating funds in support of the Memorial Fund.

5K Run/Walk starting and ending at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial;
Virtual Participant category for those unable to attend the events in DC
Wreathlaying ceremony commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
Post-event celebration at The Greene Turtle, a couple of blocks from the event
Supporters who are unable to participate in the Run for the Badge events are encouraged to volunteer for the event. Run for the Badge relies on more than 50 volunteers to help staff water stations and support our course marshals. Those interested in participating or volunteering are encouraged to visit www.RunForTheBadge.org for more information.

The Run for the Badge benefits the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which works to tell the story of American law enforcement and make it safer for those who serve. The Memorial Fund is currently building the National Law Enforcement Museum across the street from the Memorial. Participants and spectators will get to see construction progress from the 5K course.
