The NFL’s New Orleans Saints are helping the city’s police department with its recruiting efforts and honoring some of the agency’s longest serving officers.

In a press release, the team said the department would be present at two locations on the outdoor plaza level for three home games from December 3 through December 17.

Captain Ernest Demma has served with the New Orleans Police Department since 1969. He was honored Sunday December 3 before the Saints home game.

In a press release, the team said the department would be present at two locations on the outdoor plaza level for three home games from December 3 through December 17. The stations are at Location #5 – between Gates B and C and Location #10 – between Gates A and H.
The team will also be honoring an individual officer at each of the three games.
On Sunday December 3, the honoree was Captain Ernest Demma, who joined the New Orleans Police Department in 1969. Captain Demma has served the citizens of New Orleans in several different assignments throughout the department including the Special Operations Division, Reserve Division, Central Evidence and Property and several Districts in the Field Operations Bureau. One of his proudest moments was serving as Captain of the NOPD Training Academy. In September 2023, Captain Demma completed 54 years of service with the New Orleans Police Department, the Saints said in a press release.
