A Kansas City, MO, police officer is being credited with saving the life of an 11-year-old girl wounded in a drive-by shooting Sunday night.
The girl was asleep in her bed when the shots were fired into her home, Fox 4 reports.
Police responded to the scene and found the child shot twice, once in the arm and once in the stomach.

One of the officers grabbed a tourniquet, properly applied it to her arm above the wound and prevented her from bleeding to death.
Truman Medical Center has trained 1,700 Kansas City police officers through its local Stop the Bleed program. Trainees learn how to stop serious injuries from bleeding, including how to use a tourniquet.
