According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the verdict in the case against 31-year-old Alexander Villa was handed down by a Cook County jury late Thursday.
Villa was reportedly one of two gunmen who entered the store in an effort to rob it when they encountered Lewis, who was off-duty and working a second job as a security guard.
A co-defendant—identified as Edgardo Colon—was found guilty two years ago and was sentenced to 84 years in prison.
