The city of Los Angeles has agreed to pay $40,000 to two newspaper delivery women whose truck was riddled with LAPD bullets during the manhunt for fugitive ex-cop Chris Dorner .

The money will go toward replacing their vehicle, reports the Los Angeles Times . The agreement is separate from ongoing discussion regarding potential litigation regarding the personal injury aspects of the case.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck promised to provide a new truck to Margie Carranza, 47, and her mother, Emma Hernandez, 71, who were delivering newspapers in Torrance on Feb. 7 when LAPD officers fired repeatedly on their blue Toyota Tacoma.
