A veteran police detective and LAPD union boss in Los Angeles issued a dire warning to visitors urging them to stay away from the city amid a surge in crime.

"Los Angeles is like the movie [The] Purge, but instead of 24 hours to commit your crime, they have 365 days," McBride said during an appearance on Fox News.
McBride said California's zero bail policy, which allows offenders of misdemeanors and low-level felonies to be quickly released from custody after being arrested and booked, is to blame for the rash of theft, robberies and other violent crime across the region, KNX reports.
"Right now you can literally go out, do whatever you want, commit crimes and you'll be out faster than the officers can finish the report," McBride said.
