Eight-year-old Tyler Carach of Ecsambia County, FL, is a superhero, of sorts. He calls himself “Donut Boy.” But Carach’s relationship with local law enforcement runs deeper than his cape and doughnut-shaped mask.
Florida Boy Wants to Buy Every Cop a Donut
An encounter with four Escambia County Sheriff's Office deputies last month launched Tyler’s campaign, and on Thursday the boy, dressed in his cape and mask, presented 35 dozen doughnuts, candy and coffee to ECSO deputy sheriffs.

“He’s one of the best supporters and biggest cheerleaders of law enforcement,” Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said. “Donut Man or Donut Boy is not descriptive enough.”
Entrepreneur might be a better way to describe Carach, who with his mother, Sheena, created ‘I DONUT need a reason to THANK a cop,’ a campaign to show his appreciation for law enforcement professionals.
An encounter with four Escambia County Sheriff's Office deputies last month launched Tyler’s campaign, and on Thursday the boy, dressed in his cape and mask, presented 35 dozen doughnuts, candy and coffee to ECSO deputy sheriffs.
In early August, Tyler and Sheena were in a store near their home at the same time as four ECSO deputy sheriffs. Tyler asked Sheena if he could buy doughnuts and coffee for the deputies because it was his understanding that was their favorite food and beverage.
Tyler used his own money that day and bought mini-donuts for the deputies.
Sheena was a police officer several years ago when the family lived in Virginia. She said Tyler developed an infatuation with law enforcement around that time, and he grilled her on details from her work day and asked to hear stories, the Pensacola News Journal reports.
After the Carachs’ meeting with the ECSO deputies, Tyler told Sheena he wanted to buy doughnuts for every law enforcement officer in the United States. Sheena advised Tyler to start local and “take it as far as he can take it.”
