Countering Blind-Side Attacks
Blind-side attacks against officers are often successful because many cops think nothing can be done to thwart them and therefore little effort is spent on learning to counter them. Consequently, cops are injured, disabled, and even killed by blind-side punches.

Shots Fired: Tallahassee, Florida 06/26/2004
At 11:17 p.m., a 911 call came in to the Tallahassee police dispatch center. The man on the telephone identified himself as Louis Green and advised that he had warrants and wanted to turn himself in. He described himself to the dispatcher, said that he would await the responding officers at 2403 South Meridian Street, and hung up.

Back in 1994, Matthew Musladin showed up at the San Jose, Calif., home of his estranged wife’s mother to pick up his son. Words were exchanged, and he threw his wife, Pamela Musladin, to the ground. She called for help. Her boyfriend, Thomas Allen Studer, and her brother came to her aid.
