The department says, "Prior to the shooting, the involved officers saw the suspect facing them, advance forward with his arms extended, and holding an object in his hands. At the time of the shooting, the officers believed the suspect was pointing a firearm at them. After an exhaustive search, scene investigators did not locate any firearms. The protests are over the shooting death of Stephon Clark, 22, a suspect in a string of vehicle break-ins. Clark was killed at the end of a foot pursuit involving two Sacramento police officers. He was reportedly unarmed at the time. He was reportedly holding a cellphone and uncooperative with police commands during the nighttime shooting. More Here.

The shooting erupted around 4:30 p.m. at the Amazon Barber shop at the corner of London Street and Geneva Avenue, where police were responding to a report of a man armed with a gun, officials said. More Here.
