Arizona Man with Police Siren Pulls Over Off-Duty Officer
Officer Matt Lydic said a man driving a black Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor model turned on a police siren while driving behind him, authorities said. Lydic pulled over to the side of the road believing there was an emergency vehicle he couldn't see. The driver pulled up beside him and told him to slow down.

WatchGuard announced today that the California Highway Patrol has placed an initial order for 2,000 overhead-mounted WatchGuard DV-1s, a digital police in-car video system that records high-resolution digital video in real time onto rewritable DVDs that play on regular DVD players.

Police harbor officers are using sonar-equipped boats and working with a sonar expert from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration as they search the area where the plane came down Thursday, near the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The NYPD is also monitoring the river from the air because sensitive equipment could be damaged by ice and must be removed if the river gets too icy.

Drunk Drivers Hitting More Washington State Troopers
Impaired drivers hit troopers 25 times in 2008, up from 11 in 2007. About half the crashes happened after a trooper had stopped another violator or pulled into the shoulder to handle an accident. In a recent crash, a trooper's patrol car was pushed into another vehicle already involved in a crash, the Washington State Patrol reported.
