The 2018 use-of-force report shows a second year of rising attacks on officers. That year, officers were attacked 784 times, a 6-percent increase over 2017 when there were 741 attacks on officers. In 2016, there were about 590 such attacks.

St. Louis Police Cracking Down on ATV Drivers
St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said in a statement: “We are going to enforce the mentioned state statute, which prohibits the operation of ATVs in places open to the public for the purposes of vehicular traffic within the State. This includes our City streets."

Louisville Police Union Says New Traffic Stop Rules Endanger Officers

Washington Voters to Decide on Lowering Bar for Police Deadly Force Prosecutions
Voters in Washington will decide on Tuesday whether that state should lower the barrier to prosecuting police for use of deadly force. Ballot initiative 940 would remove the state's malice requirement, which says prosecutors must prove an officer acted with "evil intent" when bringing criminal charges for killing in the line of duty.
