TX Interim Chief Dies in Car Crash

"Interim Chief Jarmon served honorably with the Lexington Police Department since January 2019 and will be missed," Lexington Mayor Allen Retzlaff wrote.

Lexington Police (TX) Interim Police Chief Jarrod Jarmon, 47, was killed in a car crash while on his way to work Monday.

"Interim Chief Jarmon served honorably with the Lexington Police Department since January 2019 and will be missed. Please keep Interim Chief Jarmon's family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time," Lexington Mayor Allen Retzlaff wrote in a statement posted on the city’s website.

Jarmon graduated from Elgin High School in 1992 and later worked at the Elgin Fire Department. He then served as an officer with the Elgin Police Department before leading the Lexington PD, KVUE reports.
