A Honey Grove, TX, officer was shot responding to a domestic late Tuesday night. He was airlifted from the scene and is stable in an area hospital.

The suspect barricaded himself into a home leading to a standoff with law enforcement. He was found dead Wednesday, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, KXII reports.

Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Honey Grove police responded to a domestic disturbance when they encountered a man armed with a rifle.

The suspect fired on the officers and one Honey Grove Police Officer was struck in the leg.
