A Lincoln County (CO) Sheriff’s Deputy who was ambushed and shot while answering a theft in progress call last week was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Deputy Michael Hutton was shot while answering a call about a burglary of a semi trailer just outside the town of Hugo, KDVR reports.

He was wearing body armor, but none of the bullets hit the vest. He was hit in other parts of his body.

After a manhunt, the suspect was found dead.
