"Though we cannot safely gather for in-person National Police Week activities this May, fallen officers and their surviving loved ones should not be forgotten. We’ve set a goal to light 22,611 virtual candles; one for each name on the Memorial. As a compassionate supporter, you can pay tribute to law enforcement by lighting a virtual candle with a personal message of respect, honor, or remembrance," NLEOMF said.

NLEOMF said in March that it plans to hold a live Candlelight Vigil on Thursday Oct. 14.

Other National Police Week events have also been moved to October.

The C.O.P.S. Conference has been moved to Friday Oct. 15.

The FOP's Annual Peace Officer Memorial Service has been moved to Oct. 16.
