Computer hackers in California's Silicon Valley hijacked an electric road sign to display an anti-police message for passing motorists.

According to Fox News, the electronic billboard in San Jose—typically used to alert motorists of road construction or obstruction ahead—was hacked, and read: "Cops have 'lil PPS.".

Workers discovered the disruption in the sign and removed it early Wednesday morning.An investigation into the hacking is ongoing, but police concede that there will very likely be no resolution to the examination.
