Wisconsin Officer Shot, Expected to Recover

An officer with the Kenosha (WI) Police Department who was shot early Saturday morning is expected to recover from his wounds.

An officer with the Kenosha (WI) Police Department who was shot early Saturday morning is expected to recover from his wounds.

According to the Journal-Sentinel, the 30-year-old officer—whose name has not been released—was shot early Saturday while investigating a possible illegal entry into a car, according to the Kenosha Police Department.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. In a statement the agency said he has been with the department for two years.

The suspected gunman remains at large, the agency said.

An investigation is being conducted Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
