The "Uptown Funk" lip sync challenge video that gained almost instant Internet fame was among the 10 finalists on the television special Lip Sync to the Rescue—which featured first responders singing and dancing to popular music—and ended up taking the top spot among voters.

According to WDBJ-TV, for winning the top spot the Norfolk (VA) Police Department is being awarded $100,000.

The song's original performer—Bruno Mars—posted the video on social media and encouraged fans to vote for it during the show's final episode, which aired live on Monday night.
