An officer with the Denver (CO) Police Department was shot in the leg while responding to a shooting call. Officers were at the scene of a shooting and assisting a victim when a gunman opened fire. Officers returned fire, and the suspect retreated into a home, according to Fox News Denver.

Other officers applied a tourniquet to the injured officer, who was then transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

About an hour after the shooting, SWAT officers entered the home and arrested the suspect without further incident.
